San Pedro de Majagua Day Pass – Isla Grande, Rosario Islands
- Full day (8 AM – 3 PM)
- Isla Grande
- Boat from La Bodeguita
- Lunch included

A San Pedro de Majagua day pass is made for travelers who measure a beach day by the quality of the lunch. Hotel San Pedro de Majagua is a classic address on Isla Grande, the largest of the Rosario Islands, known for its calm beach and its kitchen. The pasadía feels unhurried and grown-up, yet children are welcome and well looked after.
There is no DJ and no rush here. You trade the beach-club soundtrack for a hotel setting, a chair by the water and a proper sit-down meal, which makes it a good fit for couples, families and anyone who wants a slower day on the islands.
The rhythm of a Majagua day
Check in at around 8:00 AM at Gate 3 of the La Bodeguita tourist dock, where you pay the port tax and maritime insurance in cash in Colombian pesos before boarding. The shared speedboat leaves at around 8:30 AM. At the hotel you are welcomed with a mocktail and cold towels, then shown to your beach chair with a towel ready for you.
Swim, read and let the morning drift by until lunch, which is the centerpiece of the day: a starter, your main course, dessert and a drink, finished with Colombian coffee or tea. Boats return to Cartagena at around 3:00 PM, subject to weather and Port Authority clearance.
Silver, Gold or Diamond: choosing your San Pedro de Majagua day pass
All three plans share the same boat, welcome and beach setup. The difference is on the plate. Silver serves a whole fish, fried or grilled. Gold upgrades the main course to grilled lobster. Diamond brings a seafood platter and adds an eco-activity, a canoe ride through the mangroves, which is a nice way to see a different side of Isla Grande.
If you are torn, think about how you like to spend the afternoon. Silver and Gold keep the focus on the beach and the meal, while Diamond adds a short outing on the water.
Good to know before you go
Kids are part of the plan: ages 3 to 8 get a kids’ menu at the child rate, and children under 3 ride the boat free with their parents. Extra drinks, water sports and the Oceanarium entrance are paid on site, and hotel transfers to the dock are not included. Times can change on the day with the weather and port clearance, so arrive at the dock on time and keep some cash for extras. Everything else, from the welcome mocktail to the towel on your chair, is already part of your San Pedro de Majagua day pass, so there is little to plan once you are on the island.
For a similar hotel-style day, compare Hotel Rosario de Mar or the easygoing Casa de la isla Fragata. Our guide to the Rosario Islands explains Isla Grande and the national park, and you can compare all Rosario Islands day passes before you decide.
Whichever plan you pick, the San Pedro de Majagua day pass rewards one simple strategy: come hungry and leave relaxed.
