The mangrove tour Cartagena is a tour designed for those who enjoy nature, birds, animals, fishing, the environment, community tourism, and a good lunch by the sea.
This tour begins by picking you up at your hotel in private transportation with a bilingual tour guide, who will take you to the municipality of La Boquilla, which is located 20 minutes from the city, where the mangrove forests and the Ciénaga de la Virgen are located.
There the locals will receive us in a handmade canoe with a maximum capacity for 5 people, (if you are more people, then 2 or more canoes will be assigned to you) in which they will navigate the shallow waters of the swamp, through the tunnels formed naturally by the branches and roots of mangrove trees of which you will find 3 types (Grey, red, and black).
As you enter the mangroves you will witness a beautiful ecosystem of crabs, oysters, birds, raccoons, fish, and other animals that interact to maintain the delicate balance of this magnificent place. During the mangrove tour, you will arrive at a lagoon where the fishing show will take place, and you will have the opportunity to cast the net as the locals have done for 400 years.
At the end of the tour, we will walk to a cabin where you will have lunch in front of the sea, and then take our private transportation back to the hotel.
Private transportation hotel – Mangrove – Hotel, bilingual tour guide, lunch, canoe trip, fishing classes.
