A Bonavida catamaran tour is one of the most relaxed ways to reach the Rosario Islands. Instead of a fast speedboat, you cross the bay on Bona Vida, a 26.7-meter sailing catamaran, under sail and engine, with shaded and sunny seating, a bar on board and large bow nets for lying over the water. The day lasts about seven and a half hours, with two long stops of an hour and a half each.

The price includes a welcome drink, typical snacks prepared on board, lunch with three choices, unlimited soft drinks, snorkel gear and floats, and the taxes, so there is nothing to pay at the dock.

What your day looks like

Boarding starts at 8:00 AM at the La Bodeguita tourist dock (Los Pegasos), in front of the Walled City, and the catamaran sails at about 8:30 AM. Boarding is direct, with no waiting on the dock. A welcome drink is served as you leave the bay and the crossing to the islands takes a little under two hours.

The first stop is on the south side of Isla Grande, inside the Corales del Rosario National Natural Park, for a swim and snorkeling over the reef. Then the catamaran moves to a turquoise, white-sand beach on Isla Barú, where lunch is served: seafood rice, vegetable rice or chicken rice, cooked in the galley on board. You have time to swim from the stern ladders, relax in the nets or walk the beach before the afternoon sail back to Cartagena, arriving around 4:00 PM. Times depend on the weather and on Port Authority clearance.

On board Bona Vida

The catamaran measures 26.7 by 11.3 meters and has three bathrooms, a professional galley, a bar with every kind of drink, padded seats in sun and shade, a wide swim ladder at the bow and two at the stern. Soft drinks are unlimited; alcoholic drinks are sold at the bar.

Prices and children

Guests aged 15 and over pay the adult rate, children aged 7 to 14 pay half, and children up to 6 travel free. Tell us the ages when you book so we can register everyone.

Who it suits best

It is a great fit for travelers who want the sailing experience as much as the beach, for families who appreciate bathrooms and shade all day, and for groups of friends who like a social atmosphere at a fair price. It is a shared tour on a large catamaran, so if you prefer a quiet beach club or a boat just for your group, other options suit you better.

Hotel transfers to the dock are not included, but we can arrange a private transfer if you ask on WhatsApp.
